I was at a motorcycle camp over the weekend and started talking with the owner of a beautiful, brand new F750GS. As it turned out he works at a BMW dealership (Morton's) doing the orders for product inventory as well as other bookkeeping paperwork. When I asked how the new GS1300 was selling for them, he hesitated before answering "OK, and after the initial surge we're selling some but to be honest not quite as well as we hoped, we have 6 on the floor right now and we're a small dealer". He said he'd not ridden one yet but everyone who has, likes it. But then he added "I think it's price, they're $26-$27,000 when we price them out how people want them and that's without bags".

Now this is just one small dealer in VA USA but I was just curious how sales seem to be going elsewhere?

Great bike , has sold well . You do have some that are put off by the new looks , additional electronics etc , but it works so well.
Coming from the Ducati , its a brilliant package . I would still have the V4s as I like red , no more. Its a great upgrade for me as the new bike delivers the bits missing from the 1250 but still keeps the essence of the GS with a fun factor thrown in for good measure. Maybe we should call it MultistradaGsWanakapanzerV41300KtmPartsbin , just to keep Jersey happy.

The Honda styling does not shout R1200GS when its parked in with other bikes

Whereas the KTM's, older R1200GS's and the new Triumph Explorer are the first bikes that catch your eye

Well there's a fair few on the roads that I've seen around Yorkshire. I was at Jeffries (now Vertu) last week and one of the sales lads told me he alone had sold 21 for the new reg last month. More than happy with my 1250 so not tempted yet especially considering the price.

Loads on the road over here in that there EU land.
Good to hear. I've not seen one on the road yet but it's still early in the season. I just checked their website and a dealer in PA that I frequent looks well stocked with (19) R1300GS's as well as (19) 2024 R1250 GSA's which seems about right because they sell a lot of GS's The 1250 Adventures are about the same price as the 1300GS's which might make it a difficult choice for some.
Off topic here but I have to say that F750GS was a nice looking bike and he loves it. He said the new F800 version's additional 19 hp might be nice but the 700 has plenty of power for him and with BMW's incentives it was a steal.

best selling uk bike over 1000cc feb and march (didn't look at Jan) , it was the 1250 adventure in March 2023 but it was down on the 1300.

Heard the 1250 GSA is outselling the 1300 GS. There is a low interest incentive at the moment, so that obviously helps.

Motorcycle sales, and I believe car and truck sales as well, have slowed here also. As he mentioned in the video, in spite what the government tells us, the economy has slowed and inflation is up as food, energy, housing, almost everything, keeps going up. People who purchase or lease on credit are being quoted higher payments because of the higher interest, as well as higher cost of the new bikes themselves (R1300GS is a good example). At least we're seeing discounts offered now on most vehicles.

not correct for Feb/March if you look at the stats in SirRich's post - the R1300GS is the biggest selling bike in the Adv and over 1000cc categories in the UK

ah but what about April 😂😂

Teapotone had a BMW sales guy on a podcast recently, he said 1300 selling well but the 1250GSA was doing about the same. Obviously good incentives on the GSA at the mo.
