Is the F650GS a liability in the countryside?

Having had a second "incident" with a horse, this time in Orkney I have come to the conclusion that the F650GS must give out a sound that many animals don't like.

This time mate rides slowly past a pair of horses (he was on a Varadero) no problem, I slowly pass and the fecking horses go ape... only choice is to open throttle to get out of way as back end of horse swings my way.

Wife on G650GS then stuck behind horses as the riders try to get them back under control.

Also noticed that often cows and sheep would flee as the F650GS passed but never batted a lid when either the G650GS or Varadero passed.

So has anyone else noticed similar with the F650GS ?

Not quite the same, but lastnight noticed that dog at the local farm goes very quiet and cowers in his kennel when the bikes running, but comes out all manly and barks when it's not....

I pass horses, cows, donkeys, chickens, roosters, turkeys, llamas (one farm), pigs, hookers, and politicians (though not usually at the same time mind you) on a daily basis.
None of them bat an eye (apart from the hookers but they do that all the time).
The F658 is quiet...maybe too quiet. Cue the spooky music and the dancing chupacabras.
Maybe it's your aftershave?

Could be your aftershave.......It's not that 'Hi Karate' your missus won down at the Bingo is it?:D

I think horses are sometimes just plain unpredictable, even the best 'traffic horses' can have their moments. Every time I pass one i'm very careful, it's worse in the JCB though as the attachments rattle like hell if the roads a wee bit bumpy.

When I was riding my own horses on the road before I started motorcycling I used to prefer traffic that passed steadily rather than hanging around behind revving a bit and slipping the clutch. Some cars just didn't slow down at all and that was terrifying aswell......Hard to say what's the best approach as each animal is different.

The prospect of a half tonne horse and rider sitting on top of me and my bike isn't something I want to experience anytime soon and on backroads if the horse looks a bit dodgy I just stop and switch off the bike if the animal is coming towards me......!

Good luck the next time you have to pass one.
