Is the Isle of Man in Western Europe

Just got back from the I.O.M. and was dissapointed to find that the TTR2 Western Europe map did not include the Island
Not part of the EU, still technically at war with Germany, there used to be some old law about shooting scotsmen on a beach at night......ok.....they must be invading!
Maybe trying to up anchors and sail away to sunnier climes.......
It's not big enough to need a GPS and as I am tacking a bunch of Danes back there in 2 days for the TT and they insist on using their GPS's it will be fun watching them either go around in ever decreasing circles or get stuck in a long line of individuals faithfully following "Sally Satnav" to points on the course.

We are not that up to date, only got electric last week and took out the gas lamps. I have just bought a brand new 1929 Ford. (In Black of course).

I could not believe this thread so checked my wife's Tomtom. The Isle of Man exists - but no roads!!
Then I checked my Garmin. Full street level mapping throughout the Island!!!
Just another in a long list of reasons why it makes sense to buy Garmin.

Most in-car sat navs (Toyota, Mercedes etc) also exclude the Isle of Man, even if you bought the car there.
But like you say, it's not as if you need sat-nav over there anyway.

Apparently, it's only Garmin that includes the IOM and the other players in the GPS market have not bothered. Bodker is right though, its not big enough to get lost!
Bodker is however mistaken about shooting scotsmen. This was something of an urban myth (like birching, prosecuting homosexuals and having to carry a bale of hay in the back of your car to feed the horse). These laws did all exist at some time but have now all been removed from the statute book.

Birching was very much a reality matey, no urban myth there , i had a couple of mates who were on the receiving end of said implement. And dispensed at the time by a Sgt Kelly i recall.
And the jock in a frock thingymajg was he had to be in a kilt - as i understand it.. No previous experience of this one ,lol. Not that a few were not tempted to during the glasgow fairs week,lol..
Ya can take the lad out of Castletown ,but you cant get Castletown out of the lad ,lol...

Well, to be correct, its only NavTeq who have IOM mapping - TeleAtlas (TomTom's supplier) have never mapped the island (or presumably paid the IOM Government for their digital mapping).
did a circular rout around IOM last Saturday, took 2 hours, was in a hire car, which had sat nav and cruise, both a waste of time, nice helpfull people though

Im afraid to tell you all that your maps must be out of date.
Ive had IOM on my TomTom for a short time now, at least 2 months I would say, possibly more.
If you pop onto HOME you can buy yourself a new map that has it on there.
v815 UK mapping has it along with Western European and whole of Europe mapping. Its likely some earlier version will have it but all new maps should be 815 or newer.
I found a older unit floating around the house somewhere with v715 on it and IOM was not on that, that particular unit is around 1yr 2 months old and hasnt recieved a map update. So somewhere between last year (v715) and the past 2-3 months there has been IOM mapping.

Well, I'm fcuking stunned, no Isle of Man maps on TTR2.
What a pile of sh@t this thing is. Okay, the Island doesn't pose some major navigational challenges I know, but the Isle SHOULD be on there FFS.
Time to switch full time to a Garmin I reckon.
