Yes it's a quickish bike with a lovely torque curve,but and it's a big but it aint no pocket rocket.

It's still a large heavy bike, and whilst nimble for it's size it's no scrum half more like a light on it's feet second row forward.

Book a test ride on a new R1200 gs wc and on an S100RR ride them back to back,then come back and ask if the new 1200 is to quick.

The 1200 gs is far to much for an inexperienced rider end of! Power to weight ratio of a 400 never mind a 600, but I think that is irrelevant the question is how much experience do you need to be able to handle a GS.. I say a lot! The accident stats back that up.. old geasers that have been away from biking for years coming back getting a big bike and causing untold trouble to themselves and other road users is just on example of how people who think they are experienced get found out as badly lacking just that! The GS is a fast motorcycle and its heavy the two together make this a bit more trick than most people think. IMHO
