one of me Dutch Biker mates said that in 2025 there would be a new BMW K1600 and Goldwing Model coming out in 2025. Seems a bit dodgy to me as I thought that Honda had only just revamped the GoldWing and the K1600 had its upgrade just 2 years ago in 2022....Interested to understand more

New colours for the K1600 but I don’t think we’ll ever see a new model, not with a 6 pot motor anyway unfortunately, it’s not fashionable these days

Strange my dealership says they are thinking about fasing out the k1600
2025 -2026 as sales are dwindling

no new model, just a few more cycles of colour changes. get one while you can. Best ones on 21MY last with the analogue dashboards

In the dealers last weekend chatting about new models and they too reckoned the K1600 likely being phased out, its jut not a popular bike compared with the RT and GS ....would be a shame if true, there are not many big sports tourers left to choose from (n)

Not too many ?
There are none !

They wouldn’t actually say as much at my dealer, I asked but it’s obvious that the end is nigh.
The only unregistered bikes available are already in the dealers. The RWB ones I think.
Doesn’t look like anymore are coming in from ze fatherland?

Maybe if it’s missing from Motorrad guff at the NEC in few weeks that confirms it.

Yeah the sales guy alluded to no more coming in, that was about a month ago and I assumed he meant this year.

Will be interesting to see whats at the NEC...

Killed by emissions regulations probably

It’s getting rather long in the tooth now and developing a suitable replacement would certainly cost a few bob, especially if they were to develop a new 6 pot as they have with the boxers

Google gemini reckons it will live on...mmm...not sure if its hallucinating ;)

No, BMW is not dropping the K1600 in 2026; in fact, the 2026 model year has already been announced with updated optional packages and new color options for the K 1600 GT, GTL, B, and Grand America models.

Rumors of the K1600 series' discontinuation due to potential difficulties with future emissions regulations (Euro 6, expected around 2028-2030) are ongoing, but BMW is currently focusing on "evolutionary continuity" and has incorporated necessary technology to meet current standards.

The 2026 models feature the same core 1,649cc inline six-cylinder engine, which was updated in 2022 to meet current Euro emissions standards.

In short, the K1600 line is confirmed for the 2026 model year with minor updates.

Would be but for the restricted mapping with Euro 4 and the overly hard ESA.

The 22 model year addressed both to a degree but the best for sheer raw power and good suspension would be the last of the original model ending in 2016....
