I know I can use Mapsource to find "Intersections" between 2 roads, but is there a way of finding just 1 road?

Eg I tried finding the D907 in France. Eventually found it by looking through the Michelin map, but I can't believe there isn't a far easier way of finding it in Mapsource. :nenau

I think it could be done but it doesn't do it. Or at least I don't think it does.

I guess the problem is that the road designation changes as it passes, say, through towns. So you end up with segments of road all over the shot.

Another problem is that many French roads in different departments share the same designation. I have lost count how many D1's I have been down. So, another shotgun attack.

I assume that more people are familiar with places (cities, towns, villages, Points of Interest etc) and / or refer to "I'll meeet you where the A5 goes over the M1" - so Mapsource concentrates on those items.

Open Mapsourse on computer.,, Right,,
Top left of page is "File, edit FIND" ,,okay.

Click on FIND ,, a drop down box appears and asks intersection, address blah, blah(on mine it does).:blagblah:blagblah

Click address tab, the rest is simple,, Can't hold your hand from her but you get the idea.:pullface

Yes - but none of those options give you a way of finding a road

as above .. when on the Find Address tab, click the Select button next to Street
Then you can enter a street of your choice e.g. A4123 etc ..

Thats brilliant - thanks. :clap

I would never have thought of finding a specific road by looking under the Address tab. :blast

Without reading all the banter..

Hi Taff,

As for D roads in France, they are not unique, so it will not work that way. ie there is more than one D1

HTH

and thanks again for last year:thumb

No problem Richie. :thumb2 But you do realise that if I break down in Ireland or India, I will expect you to help me. :D

You're right, but using the method above I've just realised there are several roads called D907, but it lists them all for you. The one I was after was the one by the Millau Bridge. Now marked as a waypoint. :bounce1

You boys and girls do realise that watching Top Gear etc from now on will never be the same again, don't you? :thumb
