Here is one for you Wildebeest, this pic was taken on the same trip at a farm house there was this tame Wildebeest. The owner said the Wildebeest is good friends with the goats. :D

Well I'm glad to know that there you are all out there somewhere :D :D

I have my very own 650 now and have loveingly washed it, we took it out for a nice little spin to take a nice little pic in the middle of a big field in the sun and i left the camera at home :spitfire so will have to settle for one in the back yard for now. :bounce1 :bounce1

Nice bike! Looks a bit younger than mine. If you plan to go on longer tours abroad with your pillion think about getting a Touratech seat and some bar risers. Best thing I bought for my bike, my wife even agrees to that.

Right you want exotic locations?

Here you go........

Just thought of getting some crashbars fitted this year, Not that I needed them in the past, but they simply look good on the bike. Yours look like original BMW ones combined with the Touratech fairing ones, is that right?

Spot on... the lower ones are the BMW originals.. very heavy but very good. The fairing bars are from Wunderlich (same as Touratech). I'd probably go for the Wunderlich or TT lower bars if I had to chose again though.

Anyone fitting a centre stand to a 650 Dakar? The Wunderlich severely limits ground clearance  although it may have been modified recently. The Touratech not as easy to put the bike onto... but good ground clearance :D

Why would you go for different ones?

Why is that?

The BM's are very heavy and have nothing to stop them from snagging up on rocks etc. (a bar goes across underneath) Partner Sue's first 650 the BM engine bar actually broke the frame mounting lug off underneath that it fastened to... only two mountings underneath, to small lugs on the frame!

The Touratech/Wunderlich bars don't restrict clearance at all.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that info. I won't put any on as they would be cosmetic at this time anyway.

Bought an ex-Off Road School 650GS last October from Bristol Motorrad with the intention of it being just a commuter... I only live about 5 miles from work now and it's not worth warming up the R1150R. The fact is I love it to bits and ride it more and more. Today, just for the hell of it, went across the bridge to Chepstow, up the western side of the Severn to Gloucester then back down the A38 to Bristol. Not a great distance but sometimes the little GS can be so much fun lobbing around twisty bits before opening her up on the straights. Got some TT lights (for winter), crash bars and other little bits and bobs but saving up to replace those battered panels with a BMW factory-style paint job next year. Can't fault the bike one bit. :clap

My two toys :thumb (Sorry about the Barge behind) :o
