Yes in principle they are a good thing, but the Centech is a bit expensivo IMHO

Pop into Halfrauds and look at their fuse panels, get a 12v switching relay while you're there and you can build yourself a canbus switched but high current supply ..

I'll dig my bits out and will do a quick schematic ifyawanna ...

Loads of people use them units bud.

Just think about its placement a little more as its not water-proof (only water resistant).

Over all I think this is a good product. BUT I want something switched off at the ignition, so that if i forget to switch the panel off, it wont kill my battery.

look at nippy normans they sell a lead that switches the fuse box off with the ignition

Then connect it via a relay switched by the ignition then.
