Having searched and read through the posts here I must admit the more I read the more paranoid I become.
I bought a trickle charger when I had my VTR1000F and it worked fine. Attached below is the blurb that came with it. It is 12v charger
These 240 Volt Power Packs are designed for charging lead acid type batteries. They are fully automatic in as much as they switch to trickle charge when the battery is fully charged. This way you bike is always ready when you are. The charger can be left on indefinitely without damaging the battery, most batteries will slowly self discharge and the lead plates sulphate up which shortens the life of a battery. The battery charger has a charging indicator (LED} will flash to show that the unit is on trickle charge, while a constant LED shows that the unit is on full charge of 350mA
It is made by Powertech. Should this be OK to attach directly to the battery
