I am part way through my trip and thought I would post some Info to date ( will sort out pics when I arrive in Iraq.

Monday night I left the IOW, and caught the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Le Harve. Good crossing basic boat but adequate.

Tuesday was Le Harve to Chamonix, 580 miles, most of them in the rain.

Wednesday through the Mont Blanc tunnel, at 6.15am, I was the only one in it! And then on to Ancona to catch the ferry to Iguomensta Greece.
The boat was great, good staff and cabins.

Arrived in Greece 11am Thursday, and did a quick blast through Greece to the Town of Akexandrous, for an overnight stay, which is 40 mins from the Turkish border. The roads in Greece are great and really quiet.

Friday AM, over the Turkish border early AM, easy and no issues, had to wake the insurance lady up to get insurance, not bad 21 euro for 3 months.
On to Istanbul, rain and really bad traffic but got through and on to Ankara for an overnight.

Today, easy day only 300 miles to the south coast town of Andana, good run, apart from getting a speeding ticket, cops were Ok, more interested in the bike really, they issues me a ticket and said I would have to pay it on exit at the border ( will see what develops)

Tomorrow morning will be an early start, heading east the the border town of Silopi for an overnight, and then an early morning border crossing into Iraq -

In terms of kit, I use nothing too fancy but should mention this trip I am using a Touratech screen extender, and as I am 6ft 3" it has made a massive difference for sustained high speed travel, also I brought a used Sargent seat a few months ago and again for long distance it is so much better than the stock seat.

More to follow with pics.........
