Le Marronier in Rencurel
Quick spin out this morning .
Scoops has taken to his bed as still feeling rough and @rjsmith26 has an appointment in Grenoble at 1600 to replace his rear tyre that he’s trashed trying to keep up with the SuperScoot
This was our intended route. It’s a bit like a Vercors greatest hits featuring the Gorge du Nan, Col de la Bataille and Combe Laval .
If you’ve never been then you can’t get much better than this loop .
But we cut out the Gorge du Nan and went straight to waypoint 7 in Pont-en-Royans, giving us a loop of about 80 miles .
Just down from Rencurel
Pont-en-Royans
Back roads to the Col de la Bataille
Col de la Bataille
Then back up to the Combe Laval in the other direction . Be rude not to !!
Then back to base for a light lunch
This is the village of Rencurel from below
Space to park
Lunch on the terrace
Drinks and dinner on the terrace tonight then 280 miles ish to Bourges tomorrow on back roads followed by similar on Thursday to St Malo via Saundra for lunch then follow the Loire to Angers .
