There‘s a chain of them across France.
….cracking old hotel
Reception never open............
Very often the proprietor’s name is Mairie, in big letters above the door.
There’s a film about them starring Cameron DiazVery often the proprietor’s name is Mairie, in big letters above the door.
Keep looking at those Honda x-ATV but dare not take one for a test ride, that's what happened to me with the goldwing never thought I'd want to own one but once I'd tried it ending up having to buy it, as you know you can't beat it for Touring especially two up and it's also a lot of fun in the twisties which there are few of around the Eiffel region.
Your weather looks a bit the same as where we are except it has warmed up to 20° now and we have hardly any rain today. That ADV does look good![]()

Been a great trip with @Stevie4scoops and @rjsmith26 , with a special guest appearance from @Skid06 .
Probably been my favourite trip in last decade.
Ten minutes of rain (over Dartmoor) plus thirty minutes of early morning fog in Picos, otherwise pretty much cloudless blue skies for two weeks .
Scoopie is halving another quiet one tonight a still off colour. Rob and I will be going to the pub next door for a cold Affligem or two then dinner .
My ferry leaves at 0800. I should be on my drive way by 0930. The boys ferry takes about eight hours to Portsmouth tomorrow.
I said on my initial post it was 2500 mile trip. That was a rough guess as hadn’t added up all the days mileage but this is what I’ve done since leaving home on 15 May

All bikes 100% reliable and only one off
It’s less than a mile to the ferry tomorrow then two miles to home from the port .
Picked up a few bugs….plus a few on the scoot, but at least a couple of you are seemingly inspired to do similar , which is a good thing .

So I’ve re-arranged a few on my last photo
So this feature is over. Please retune to Kanal 69, where ‘ Doc Bekommt Getwatten ins Cochem’ is previewing shortly .

Ta .Thanks you for sharing your experiences mate!
Glad you all have had a great trip, even if @Stevie4scoops not feeling his best for the second half of it.
Not least that you haven’t lost the will to live with the amount of tangents that your ride report had produced by the usual scooter haters and lovers alike. Had I had the cash and space to keep it, 750 would’ve been a scoot I’d have long time ago. Loved them ever since thy have been launched. I have no problems with scooters, I think k they are great. Anyway I digress.
Scooter is a keeper I take it?
My only apology, is that I couldn’t afford to join you this year, for reasons you are aware of and I shall not regurgitate. I am seriously hoping that normal service will resume for me next year. It be rude not to.
Enjoy your beer, two or three, I’ll have an imaginary one shortly with you guys in mind.
Much love.
Travel ain't cheap Ev. Chief financing officer said our big trip off last year cost five and a half grand. Plus probably a tenner of my own money. Thanks you for sharing your experiences mate!

I’m not that fussy about most alcohol but Ricard is the only anise and liquorice flavoured aperitif. All other pastis are imposters.Well, I did wonder because I've always had a pastis before my meal... with water not lemonade! Ricard too, not that other imposter.![]()
