The middle east has always been in conflict for as long as I can remember and before; Britain was culpable in this in many ways too - I travelled to the middle east in the early 80s with work, including Egypt when Sadat was assassinated by fundamentalists.
The fact remains that the vast majority of normal people, no matter where they live are decent good people who welcome travelers and are proud of their country and heritage. Itchy Boots has highlighted this and shown us that the Yemen and its people are the same and not quite as the narrative we are so often fed.
Yes the NE of Yemen is best avoided for obvious reasons, but the entire country is not like that.
