Hello all,
not posted much, but that is because i was a fraud. I'm not anymore

On tuesday evening I took delivery of a 2009 R1200GS Adventure from Bahnstormer in Alton, who I have to say, service wise were brilliant! hats off to Danny!

looking forward to getting stuck in and meeting a few of you on a ride at some point soon

Congratulations on your acquisition. I hope sir will be pleased :D

(Welcome by the way :thumb2 )

Well done, and welcome!!!

Seeing as you have a new toy, a couple of pics wouldn't go amiss.....:rob

You may also want to post in the ' I'm new, be gentle' section....

So far i am VERY VERY pleased
Look forward to my 140miles of commuting everyday

its just so smooth I cant wait to sort me out some spare wheels with half and half tyres and get a nice stock of brake pads so I can go off road when ever i like

Does anyone know how optimistic the range on the on board comp is? IE it says I have enough petrol to get me back to work tomorrow but not all the way home (short by 10-20miles) will it get me home or not?

one of the wants of buying the adventure was to only have to fill up twice a week rather than everyday and if i can squeeze 3 days travel from the tank that would be brilliant!

Pics will be around after the weekend! It's pitch black by the time I get home!

I already have posted in the n00b section, before i bought it, just to say hi! :) you replied then too, haha

Congrats on the new bike, I purchased mine from Bahnstormer over 4 years ago now and have never regretted it.

As for fuel consumption, I don't trust the gauge on mine very much as it always come on early. What I can tell you is that mine has done 313miles on a tankful and still only took 30ltrs.

One of these days I am going to run it dry and really find out what the max range is (with a full 5ltr can in my top box)

Enjoy

Regards Dave

oh the on board says I should be able to do around 400 on a tank (?) and im fairly certain if i hadnt had to ride from bahnstormer's to my parents (oakley) to mine (basingstoke center) I would get 3 days no problem.

Just wondering, am tempted to do what you say too! let us know how i tgoes

Really?
ignoring the tyres I have on that bike I know a team up in Wales who would beg to differ, and I'm abit stuffed when I go to portugal on a r1200 (not mine) in feb to go off roading with said team :P

I only rode it onto the patch of grass, the ford in the background was about 4 times deeper than it usually is and considering I didn't have proper tyres on decided not to try it alone

one day soon though I will! But I'll walk it first I think (not the most experienced off roader in the world)
