Its lost its sense of purpose. It was made to journey far and wide, choreographing the beats, leading the twin cylinder orchestra.

Its never felt the electricity coursing through it. Never been in control of things, because you bought it just in case.

I may not give it the life it craves when I take it on holiday. I dont want to.
But I am willing to take it to far flung parts of the world and and give it a taste of what it was conceived for.

Latest studies show that hundreds of them lie around in dark corners in boxes, some having to use old bubble wrap, some exposed to the elements with hardly any protection at all. Perfectly able to work, but not allowed to by their unfeeling masters.

Help your hall sensor. Give it a well deserved break. At least give it a chance to do what a hall sensor was born for.

Let it be part of the motorcycing touring fraternity. One of the family. Let it feel the warmth and comfort which is only felt by a trusted spare whilst on the road.

Lend it to me for a month. I'll pay you the return postage and include enough for a beer or three.
If I use it, I'll buy you a brand new one to stick back in the 'just in case' box.

2005 1150 twin spark.

This appeal was an unpaid-for presentation by the Give a Hall Sensor a holiday Organisation.

OK go on then

You can pick it up on your way south and drop it off on the way back. It's already been to Italy this year in the seat hump of my RT.

Thanks and much appreciated Mr Boxer , BUT, I think your 1100rt has different wiring and plug to the one which fits mine.
I will research it further and let you know.

So assuming? that yours is different (and has already had a holiday this year) I'm still available to give help and comfort to anybodys Foster sensor.

No probs. Drop me a mail on youllhavehadyourtea at gmail dot com if it's a goer.

:D Good idea Den. :thumb2

Don't forget a stick coil or two and maybe an injector to ease your worries.

I hope my problem doesn't spoil your fun...

Thanks Mr Water. Hope you are coping with your problems.

I was toying with the idea of putting a small kit of bits together and hiring it out for a nominal fee for 1150s touring abroad (cue the 'just fill her up and set-off' lot).
Not for any major rebuilds or anything, but for things that have been known to go wrong and spoil a holiday.
Yes, it is civilised out there in abroad-land, but feckin around trying to find a stick coil or a fuel line connector is a waste of vacation time.

Small zippy bag. rear bearing&seal, stick coil, hall sensor, alt belt, fuel connector.
Its only 6"X4"X2"-sensor. In topbox, hardly noticeable.

Testing the forum with my hire request for 'a sensor for a month' has probably had dozens of tossers taking theirs to bed with them last night (except Scotboxer:thumb2)(1100 though, pity) ... just to keep it safe from anyone.
"Wot you doing with all them bits under the pillow dear. Youve got oil on me best linen".
"Thems important bits I collect love."
"But youve got five of each bit ... and while I remember, get them gearboxes out of the sideboard".
"Dyou know how scarce these things are dear? like gold dust".
"Maybe that how they're feckin scarce!! .... anyway, you sold your 1150 last year".
"Might get another though".

In the event of me not finding anywhere suitable to work I may have to call BMW.

The bike's parked on the pavement right in the middle of town and it probably wouldn't go down too well taking the bike apart here: I suspect it may draw a crowd. ;)

There's a dealer in Zaragoza which is only a few miles away. I'm currently collating a script in Spanish to help with the communications about timescale and cost because my phrase book does not contain the term "ignition timing sensor" for some reason. :nenau

Not sure if it has exactly what you need, but worth a look:
