Since passing my test at 17 (a tad over 40 years ago) I have always owned and ridden the sportiest bikes available, and when the super bike race replicas became available I rode those - I never had anything that that wasnt radical! I did some club racing too. Had Gixxers (1 750 & 3 thous), FZR Genesis, R1, Blades, SP1, Ninjas, S1000RR BMW. In a nutshell, Id done it and, if Im honest, ended up getting a bit bored with it... probably because the roads have changed and the biking culture, so I went to the other end of the scale and am now on my 2nd GSA LC. Its a whole new motorcycling experience!!! I can still go fairly quick, I can see the scenery, and... I can carry luggage effortlessly - all very novel
. I miss the sports bikes looking nice sat in the garage and for the odd track day, although, as track day instructor, I have done track day tuition on the GSA and was more impressed with it that I thought I would be! For what they are, I think theyre amazing bikes!
Ive noticed the nodding culture has changed over the decades, unless youre in France, its still very much alive there.
Enjoy the 1250, it looks well.
