Took delivery of Bumble Bee Mk.II this morning.
Due to shite weather I've only done aboot 50 miles, but if it clears up this evening I should get the tyres scrubbed in (gettin' near the edge already).
Impressions so far:- it's tall richt enuff, but no too tall and can get my wee feet doon OK. Brakes ain't as good as those on BB Mk.I, but will no doubt improve when bedded in. Handlings as good if not a bit better than BB I. Gearbox is magic - nae crunchin'. Seat seems comfy enough. a longish journey will tell.

So far I see no reason to regret "downgrading" from the 1150GS.

(The grey streaks on the pic are raindrops - it wiz fair pishin' doon when I took it)

Nice.

But that portable toilet on the tank must be tricky to use ?

Well, they call it Sunset Yellow, but it's almost Mandarin. Think BMW have "redesigned" the names of their paints !!!!!!

Know what you mean about the seat. I did a couple of hours on the 650 and ended up fidgeting aboot tae get comfy. So far the 800 seat fits my erse just fine. A long run will tell 'tho.

Not impressed with the portaloo. It's kinda tall and set too far back. It disnae "collapse" intae itself like the 1150 tank bag did, if you get my drift. It is a one size deal. There is plenty room in it and the rain cover is built in, under the "lid", and closed with a cord and toggle. When not being used it rolls up and is secured out of the way again with toggles. A good enough idea, I suppose. Really 'tho, it needs a redesign. At least there's a space in the map pocket for that most necessary gadget, the cellphone. BMW arrive in the 21st century !!!!!!
I wouldnae buy another one, 'cos they're nae worth the money, and perhaps the only good thing about it is that you don't have to unclip it to refuel.

'Sunset Yellow, but it's almost Mandarin'

hmmm:rolleyes:

I took a Honda Transalp oot on Seturday efternane - apart frae the height again , what a Mickey Moose bike - wisna' very impressed. That was after the F800st in the morning, much better ,but those conventional teles!

p.s. Ron - when's the avatar changing then:augie

cheers enjoy.

saw my first new 800 GS today........

leaving the car park at enster across from the chippie. Two up with luggage, same colour as Rons and on foreign plates.
Nice sound but seemed a bit light at the front when pulling away from rest (no,not wheelies :blast just wobbles).
