It's not a breakdown .. it's just your bike wouldn't start again

Just had my bike in for a 12k service and the EWS done at the same time.

The staff worded their response very carefully. To replace the EWS thing, it was a "Quality Enhancement" and NOT a "Recall".

This is because to BMW HQ; people did not breakdown but instead they had merely switched off their bike and it would not start. Therefore BMW HQ does not recognise the EWS failure as a breakdown.

The staff at the place were good, but you could see they were under strict orders from Bracknell to word things precisely.

For those of you who lost precious time on your holiday because of the EWS failure ... REMEMBER .. YOU DIDN'T BREAKDOWN! YOUR BIKE JUST COULDN'T BE STARTED AGAIN

They did, I used to work near Richmond where one of their recovery companies were based, and they had special recovery trucks with side covers.
