My arms are now like Popeyes, but I've managed to save my headers after stupidly using Optiglanz on them (note to others: DO NOT use Optiglanz on chrome:blast). I know that as soon as I turn the key they will go blue again, but the OCD in me had to get them back to showroom finish.

Here they are before polishing, but after Optiglanz:

And after about 10 hours of polishing:D

Looks stunning.
Same bike as me, but mine does not look that good. What do you use on the black bits???
:rob

your yard needs a sweep over there's weeds growing....

Shinier than most Harley's.............

Is that the standard screen? looks sexy

Nope, it's the Adventure screen with winglets. You can tell it's winter, I've cleaned it more than I've ridden it!:D:beerjug:

10 hours.........................I thought I was bad

I would have been fed up after 10 mins

I've had my 1200 for 5 years and I don't think the cleaning and polishing would add up to 10 hours in all that time:eek:

Nice to see someone with such obvious pride in his bike! What polish did you use to shine up the chrome? All by hand or did you use a polishing mop?

All by hand.:rob I used Autosol and some specialist chrome cleaner. Well worth the effort though.:JB

I'm just waiting for comments about the tax disc:augie

rt001, You can OCD around my bike any time you wish:thumb2

I'll even let you ride it afterwards. That way you can save your headers.

I am gutted to see you beat me too it.:D

That is the best positioned tax disc I have ever seen on a GS. Can we start a new thread and hold your bike up as an example of how to mount a tax disc on a GS?:hide

you did a really good job there
looks great a credit to you :beer jug:

shame about it being ruined by the tax disc :D
