Ive done it again

£ 900 is a lot of money unless it really floats your boat though !

I didn’t pay that for mine. Got mine new off eBay for £500 without the heat shield. Then got the heat shield for £90 from Germany. Still a lot of cash but.........

I still have the original, if I’d have paid £825 as an option it would have been in lieu of the original. The original looks like a Brabantia to me.

Weird ... my good taste may be leaving since I like the akra but less so the gold wheels ...

Whats wrong with me?!

Lovely bike !!! My 2018 GSA looking rather aged next to that.

Also what camera setup so you have?

Lovely bike mate :beerjug: As an idea get the plastic guard that's fitted to the Adventure's to clip onto the centre stand. It stops the cross bar getting pebble dashed from gravel thrown up by rear wheel. They are only about £36 from BMW :thumb

Failing that, clear helicopter tape on it as it won't last long before it looks crappy :thumb2

Blueskysea cameras and DVR from ebay about £90 ish really good reliable system that actually works its a cheap version of the Innov but has a little screen on the DVR simple to fit plug and play also has a remote that if you press the button recorda for 30 seconds before youve pressed it for 3 mins
highly recommended had them on about 6 bikes and my son in law has had the same one on his last 3 bikes

Well, mine arrived and I’d forgotten the sheer presence the GSAs have. Nice evolution from my TC.

Adventure Boy...Nice looking bike ! The Akra does not look bad and you still can take the DB-Killers out to make it sound like a proper motorcycle :thumb2 Do you have the sports-suspension ? What is your impression compared to the R1200RS you had before ? Get rid of the awful Bridgestones and replace them with proper tires like Conti TA3 or Pirelli ST2 and the bike handles even better :thumby:
All you need now is 17" wheels and 160 hp for road-perfection...;)
Enjoy !

Hi Boxer, thanks im getting used to the can now and dont mind it to be honest, Ive not got the sports suspension, the RS id say was as quick as the GS perhaps a bit quicker on top end and certainly handled better without doubt, I had the wunderlich superbike bar conversion on the RS so the seat to bar position was not too far away from the GS but the pegs were a lot higher so id say the GS is more comfi, Ive got Michelin Anakee adventure tyres on it and I think they are shocking to be honest, spoke to a guy today who had Michelin road 5 trial tyres fitted and he said they were great so am thinking of getting them as I had road 4 on the RS and the RT and never had an issue

id love to get a pair of 17" on it id say with super sticky tyres it would be the nuts

Welcome to my world.
My 1250 Rallye has Metzeler M9RR’s on a 17” front with choice of 180/55 or 190/50 rears. The Ohlins TTX’s are just a bonus!

Can’t find close up of front at moment since I lowered the front mudguard.

I think they came off an RT. I ran it for a year with the standard GS swingarm. The wheels weren’t in line but it handled fine, but being picky I wanted it right as probably my last big bike and a keeper. I’m not intending ever taking it off road so got an RS swingarm fitted last year. Also had it remapped and all the frame paintwork and other bits done to match. The mechanic couldn’t stop smiling when he got back from testing it.

I did the same on my R1150GSA SE with RT wheels Etc everything bolted straight on, discs ABS Ring even the spacers
Id love to know if there is any special parts needed to fit the RT rims and RS swing arm as its something I want to do

Cheers

give us a shout Rob if your after some bits, ive got the front wheel spacers to convert a RS front 17" wheel ( had some fabricated after I bought some from Germany ). and a RS swinging arm

From memory the discs on my front wheel were slightly bigger than GS ones, requiring spacers to bring the callipers out slightly to accommodate. The rear wheel has a different offset to the GS one. The swingarm is a straight swap. It has a kink in it that brings the wider rear wheel in line with the front

Wait for the M1300GS - The one with 160 hp and 17" wheels done right straight from the factory :thumby:
If you convert to a 17" front you'll loose stability & ground clearance and still have only 136 hp...;)
Whatever you do - Have fun guys :D

won't happen, have you ridden one? no stability issues or ground clearance, no chicken strips on 180/190 profile tyres, never grounded pegs, amazing conversion as long as its done. with some decent suspension and get the ride height sorted, you only had to watch the German company (Rennah I think) who did the conversions on track days to see how good they are.

Skid06...I think the company doing the conversions was called Rennkuh but the owner passed away if I remember right...As for having ridden a 17" conversion no I have not.But I can tell you I have a 2019 GS with sports suspension and GS cast wheels and I can scrape pegs and around 125 mph it starts to wobble...So why would I decrease the front by an inch and shorten the trail even more ? The factory has to do it...Right ! Then hopefully with 150-160 hp as a M 1300 GS which has been trademarked by BMW for obvious reasons :thumby:
Hopefully soon...:D
Until then the 19" front and 136 hp will have to do...;)

scrape the pegs at 125mph on a GS on standard tyres, mmmm, your some dude and something id like to see, your wrong about the factory, you will never know till you ride one, ive the same conversion on one of my Africa twins ( 19-17 ) with the same results, night and day to my standard one
pic of your pegs? ( not doubting you just want to see it )
