buy one of these touratech sports seats, allows you to put luggage tents in line with the bike
dont worry about the blue stitchin and carbon look leather...i did that
Touratech do a nice looking item called 'Pillion seat storage rack for BMW R1200GS'.
Available in black or silver and clips in place of seat so is easily exchanged for seat should you seek company! Part no: 01-045-5460-0
But around £200. Nevertheless I have just ordered one, mainly because it will make it easier to get my leg over.
Noticed a couple of you having trouble mounting the bike?
Have you never tried using the LHS foot peg to mount the bike? I'm a creature of habit & always do it. No doubt it's frowned upon in case the side stand snaps (anyone?)

I always get onto the bike by standing on footrest and swinging leg over. No damage to the seat no over stretching and as you drop down its easier to haul the bike off its side stand.
Most of the load goes down the side stand tube so it's more than strong enough. My 08 GSA now has 50K miles its first owner and I have always used it the same way. No signs of untoward wear in frame or stand. And - I've stripped the back end to powder coat the frame.
