Now then, as I have no friends and never will have, my pillion seat is not needed.

What I'm actually looking for is something to fill up the access hole to the under seat compartment if I take off the pillion seat.

As I have my radio etc under there, I need something specific.

:-)

If you had any friends I'm sure they would advise you to leave the pillion seat on unless you are desperate to spend money on something else that does the same job of the item that you want to remove? :nenau

If that is the case then I have an old wheelie bin lid and a Stanley knife I could let you have for £40 delivered :augie

Yes, but then I might find it easier to strap a tent across the bike with no seat.

I've found a part number for a BMW plastic lid thingy.

No price found as yet :-( Why they can't have the balls to publish the prices in their accessory catalog I will never know. Grrrr

Part number 77448523742 is the thingy.

But I do take your point that the seat does a similar job. I also tend to cut the seat with my boots getting on/off :-(

$175 in US, so about £115 here

BMW know how to charge for a small piece of plastic:augie

Touratech do a nice looking item called 'Pillion seat storage rack for BMW R1200GS'.
Available in black or silver and clips in place of seat so is easily exchanged for seat should you seek company! Part no: 01-045-5460-0
But around £200. Nevertheless I have just ordered one, mainly because it will make it easier to get my leg over.

women go crazy for that sort of thing.

Hi JTee - I've go the BMW bit you've listed and I'm not using it on the bike and am happy to sell to you if you're interested.

Let me have your email and I'll ping you over details and photos later on.

I had one fitted for a while.....and then my son pinched it for a European trip. It enables you to fit the top box in the pillion position.

I managed to get it back, eventually....

I was once told by a very wise person that as you get older you get more and more friends , if your friends are diminishing as you get olderyou should have a serious look at your attitude to people :-) ...................... and I think the wise person was right :-)

i think that's nonsense.

you make more friends when you are young, and it's easier to do so. as you get older, they get married, move away and/or die, and you lose touch. it's harder to make new friends.

having said that, i seem to have quite a few :)

It's always easy to make friends if you ride a motorcycle what ever your age ;-) and old friends if true friends are still there even when not seen for years at a time.
