Yes Andrew, I am indeed considering those now. I first came across the Aoocci which looked good and then my Insta feed filled with Carpuride, Innov, and Chigee. It's a boggle to know which to choose but the introduction of front and rear cameras looks really useful too - I don't know if they all have this. I think I'm right in saying the Chigee is awaiting a new release mid-December and it looks quite pricey, though I much prefer the idea of these over a Garmin sat-nav, especially as I've been used to Android auto in the car and you can download maps for offline use for times when there's no live mobile data on hand.If you’re after an Android Play screen, have you considered any of the ones which use the SatNav prep? Chigee / Carpuride / Innov / Aocci / etc
That's great knowledge you've shared there Andrew, thank you!I’ve run a Carpuride 502BS and 702BS, and now run a Chigee AIO6 (non-LTE, no cameras as I already have a dash cam fitted).
The Carpuride were fine but too small (502) and then too big (702). The Chigee feels nice but very expensive - Carpuride now have a 6” model so I doubt I’d buy the Chigee today. The 702 paired to an iPhone took me to Morocco without issue.
No experience on the others - but search the forums and others have feedback.
Maybe a used or otherwise 'going for a song' Chigee AIO5 would be a good compromise. I'll keep my eyes peeled. That's great knowledge you've shared there Andrew, thank you!
The Chigee is too expensive for me, but I suppose it depends what you get for that money.
Morocco eh, the wife and in were in Marrakech last month and viewed to travel back by bike some day.
Thank you. Yes I saw TMF review but wasn't sure of it last beyond a few months....Ive recently bought the CMPC B6, (same as Aoocci). Ive not actually used it on the road yet but have the C3 on my Himalayan and it works well. I paid about £211 but price changes with the weather. TMF did a review.
On the additional lights, i dont have any but ive ridden with people who do, some are fine some are dazzling, i think its down to the set up and the rider.
Watch this video.Yes, I've now signed up to that, thank you. It does require that I fit them myself and I'm not sure about all the bodywork that needs removing to route cables properly but it would be a good exercise because I also want to run an android play screen for sat nav off of a can bus system anyway. But all in good time.
I had the Chigge AIO5, loved it too bits but a bit too small. Then the 702BS, the screen was huuuuge, a bit too big for me.Yes Andrew, I am indeed considering those now. I definitely need to do more research here and with my desire to venture further a field than Dorset a must have (for Christmas).
Do you have any direct experience you'd like to share?
Thank you DJ, that's very kind of you to share. I've seen the Aoocci deals and that's the only one that tempts me outside of the Chigee but they can often be had at a similar level of discount including from referrals so I wont rush in.I had the Chigge AIO5, loved it too bits but a bit too small. I now run the AIO6 LTE with the cameras. Size is right on the button. Pricey, yes but a quality unit I feel. Very happy with it.
They are working on a software update so the camera's can offer blind-spot detection. Not sure when than will be coming along tho
Black Friday deals at
I've never had these but they get good reviews
- Innov (up to) 40% off.
- Aiooci 25%
- Carpuride are cheap as chips for anyone's money. I'm not aware that they have a dash cam accessory tho
Yes. It doesn't look so difficult though I'd go for the under nose mount which may require a little more plastic trickery. My problem is that I'm not very practical but my young son (14) is up for the challenge and would be a great little learning curve together.Watch this video.
The same thing looks a bit daunting. But when you've done it once, you can do it again with your eyes closed (though I would recommend you keep them open lol)
Just watch "a bike thing" video on YouTube on removing the plastic on the bike. It really is simple to do, will probably take a couple of hours to install.Yes. I really feel I need to find an experienced GS buddy within a couple of hours happy to exchange some free time for some beer tokens.
The Lone Rider Black Friday sale goes live early evening and I'd like to take advantage.
Thank you. I thought that was a 1250 and he said not to use it for 1200, but I may be confusing with something else. I've looked at so much. I fed all my cables back to the Ezcan with a coat hanger and didn't remove the fuel tank. I managed to get them under the seat mount just by loosening the bolts.
It's not difficult to install.
