Jam eaters

Initially a term of abuse, because some local miners were too poor to put meat in their sandwiches.

Now a term of solidarity for the people of West Cumbria who struggled successfully through hard times, especially the inhabitants of White'evan (Whitehaven) and Wukitn (Workington).

:D

Now then, it seems this is a derogatory term from one town to another.... but who are the real Jam eaters:D

BTW, I'll be over there in the morning for some gentle off roading.

I don't like the sound of that... it sounds orrible...! abusive and how I would imagine a jailhouse romance would start....!

Or

Never thought of it as aimed at an area, such as monkey hanger
