Jaunt to the South coast.

See the hill in pic three that looks like a pair of (.)(.) :)

I walked from Dent to the other side of that, to the house with the Postbox in the wall when I was there.

9 miles round trip if i recall, and on a glorious sunnny Sunday morning :)

After Dent, it was back the M6 for the haul around Manchester to North Wales and the Horseshoe Pass. Despite being a.week day, there were.quite a few bikes and.sports cars and a few pensioner day trippers . Andy started blathering with a chap on.an XJ while i went for drinks. As I only needed a cup of tea and a coffee (both self serve), I popped in to one empty line , got the stuff and cut ahead of the queue waiting for scones, cakes, chips etc. Just as I was about to complete my overtake, Darby and Joan pulled out and headed for the till! If looks could kill, I'd be on a slab even now! "I am sorry, I thought you would be waiting a bit longer." SILENCE! Lad at the till gives me the price and takes my cash with a huge grin!

Coffee and tea and blathering done, it was down the pass with Andy gazing at all that slate to finish his patio and then south by Llangollen to the marcher counties and then Herefordshire and zider country ...

Right. Just realised this needed finishing! So, we headed south to Ross on Wye and camped up at a pub which made its own cider. Tasty stuff too.

The pub had no food on that night but me in host produced a bunch of menus from local carry outs and said we were welcome to eat in the pub. A bit of a reversal of the usual byob! :D

We settled on a Chinese meal for two which included a proper man size spring roll like all Chinese carry outs used to make!

Next day, I discovered another benefit of drinking cider: no early morning visits to the bog, or reaching for the outsize placcy bottle in the dark! Coincidence? Maybe but further research is justified!
