I've been hearing about some well-dodgy Java threats so I've upgraded to J7 release 7.

Am I safe?

if your not sure go to java.com and download the latest version, the website will tell you if you are up to date
there will always be Java vulnerabilities but keeping up to date will help

usual shit keep all your web browsing and anti-virus software up to date all the time and it's hard to go wrong
not impossible but hard to go wrong

Unless you live near Krakatoa I wouldn't worry too much.

AFAIK it's only safe if you turn it off

if your really paranoid Firefox has this addon which will let you disable Java and let you only use it on websites you want
