The new bike pitched up in the crate at the dealers yesterday.

Hopefully getting it today but it needs PDI'ing/roadtesting with new exhaust system/mapping etc and a few bits fitting before I can get my hands on it.

But I reckon Tarka may approve and I'll be humming this when I pick it up.


So what pile of shite have I bought then,tosseurs ?

Tis a Scrambler.

Rode a mate's a few weeks back and loved it so chopped in the CB13.

This was mate's :

But mine is in a colour which I think suits the bike more and I'm having a few other bits stuck on.


Pissing with rain though so don't know if they'll get it PDI'd etc today.

You likely haven`t gone blingola glitz and glam like my Green/Silver one,so I`m reckoning you`ve gone and got the matt Olive Green one ?

S`pose yer putting the Arrow 2 into 1 on it,and the headlamp grille?

My Scram puts a smile on my face whenever I even look at it,and riding it is grin factor 10.......enjoy!

Don`t worry about the rain.....they`re one of those bikes that look quite good when they`re dirty....even though the thought of that happening to mine traumatises me.

Just been out on the Scrambler for a few miles.


Love it !!!


The jury is out as to whether the baffle on the Arrow system needs to go back in as it is rather LOUD.Does sound glorious though.

The suspension is obviously built down to a price but nothing a set of black Ikon shocks/springs for £300 couldn't sort.

Was in 2 minds whether to get one ,as it's an optional extra but went for it.

Watch you don`t overload that rear carrier though,as it`s just fixed onto the seat unit plastic...there`s a few clever mods for that (and the rest of the bike) to view on ADVrider in the Triumph Scrambler thread within the 'Beasts' Forum.

Oddly,I have no complaints about the stock suspension...even the occasional times I`m 2-up (I got the single and the dual seats with mine).


Lucky barsteward having those black/silver registration plates.....it looks ace.

I've heard about not overloading the rear rack,but I'll mainly use it for just light stuff locally.

I just prefered the look of the single seat/rack but will prob put the dual seat back on when I take it away-planning a potter up to the Dales at some point with chasr of this parish who has a Bonnie as well as his GS.

I assume the seat units swap easily enough,as my dealer fitted everything ?(gratis)

Fairly easy...there`s two dome headed Allen screws at the rear of the seat.
You can see them, if you look beyond the tail lamp under the back of the seat unit.....a bit awkward to release/refasten without scratching the lamp casing.
You can buy extended head seatbolts via Eblag.

Apart from the bolts,the seats fit on and off easily enough.
The single seat is a tad thicker and more comfy than the dual seat.

Look under the left sidepanel for the 'comprehensive toolkit'.....a single Allen Key.

The Bonneville spec Ventura luggage system fits the Scram,apparently,if you want more capacity.
Also,Norman Hyde sells a single sided frame to fit a Givi pannier on the left side.

I really like this set up, soft luggage and screen.
