Have to agree though that compared to modern bikes they are still a bit of a challenge to get them to handle. Mine had a deep brased Metmachex alloy swinging arm, after market shocks, front fork brase etc and it was just about ok through the twisties :D

Roadbikes have never held much regard for me, I have never had any love affair with them - mainly because I was brought up riding offroad, way before I hit tarmac and when I did ride on the road, I chose trials/enduro or trail bikes

In fact the only road styled bikes I have ever owned are ...

Yam RD400C
Honda CBR600
Honda VFR750
Triumph 900
Honda VFR800
BMW R1100RT

Soon got bored of riding road styled bikes

Hmmmm it is a long time ago - I don't think you should even try to compare them to anything less than 15 years old now. I changed the swingarm for a some fancy alloy box section jobbie and Marzocchi shocks. Also added a Telelever fork brace so I must have felt something needed changing over standard. Mine would need a good overhaul to get it roadworthy and I just don't have the time.

i remember when the cbx was released. in our group it was considered slow (for the money), didn't handle, was expensive and it didn't seem much of a looker either. the suzuki GS1000 was the weapon of choice. as with many suzukis - more bang per buck :)

i know which i'd rather own now though :rolleyes:
 
For charisma the MV Agusta 750s, Laverda Jota and Benelli Sei were the bike to beat and Honda just about did it with the CBX, right now I can't think of another bike since then that comes close

My mate has a pro link cbx, had it from new on a x plate. Full starship enterprise body kit and panniers.
