I'm curiuos, thinking of chukking my ori BMW modular panniers aside, and installing the real alu stuf

Get touratec's there better made, lighter and you can get more in them and
they don't go rusty either.

... as they are made from aluminium; however the frames are painted mild steel and do rust if left to their own devices

I've had my 'standard' Jessies for 3 years and rarely take them off the bike as they are so useful. I quite liked the look of the 'Sahara' ones, but as I own the luddites favourite oilhead (1100) then they're not for me.

As for 6 year old welders, that may be so but these are perfectly 'fit for purpose' as befits a machine made object.
