Anyone on here have Jesse panniers on there bike and added any extra security/locks. I did read somewhere that another GSer wasn't very confident that the handle/locks couldn't be compromised by a determine tea leaf. Saw a mates pair of Caja googoos and was quite impressed with the latch type locks and wondered whether similar ones could be used or adapted for these panniers. Didn't want to consider drilling more holes in the boxes but if there is a way to improve security more than at present I'd consider it.

Opinions requested.

Cheers

steve, there is an old saying.. `locks are made to keep honest people out`.. overdo the pannier locks, they might just unbolt the rails and take the whole lot!

Leave the left-hand pannier on the catch, but not locked. The average theif will go for that one first, completely unaware that you've hidden an attack-trained Doberman in it :thumb

You are right there Nick but some piece of mind is required when you walk away from the bike.
Any lock on a bike can be compromised by a determined tea-leaf but any lock is better than no lock.
