That Zal Cleminson looks uncannily like my mother-in-law.
Next time she comes 'round here I'm going to give her my Gibson, wind the Marshall up to 10 and see what happens

Me and the wife are coming up to Glasgow for a few days soon, where's good for some music? a good boozer with a regular band?.......blues,rock,loud? Any good guitar shops?

Nice 'n Sleezy on Suchiehall Street has bands on every night.

King Tuts Wah-Wah hut has good bands when it's running.

The Blues Poets used to do a Thursday residency at the Clutha Vaults.

Get a gig guide when you get there cos it's been years since I lived in the city.

There's a huge guitar shop opposite here with all the good stuff in glass cabinets downstairs.

Is Drum Central near Drumchapel? :nenau

There's a Comedy Store every night in Barlanark. Folk are aye in stitches...

Moon Guitars produce handmade geetars for the likes of Stuart Adamson, Steve Earle and Bryan Adams.

Zal

You'll have to turn the Marshall up higher - Zal never played at anything less than 11.
Saw the band a few times in the 70's and then made the mistake of watching them again (with Zal, but obviously no Alex - now that WOULD have been a gig) at the Wickerman Festival a couple of years ago.
A poor tribute band really - don't know what Zal was thinking about - interstellar travel most likely.
