Jobs in Hampshire

Whats the job situation along the south coast of Hampshire like then.
Just lost our jobs down her in the west country, and there is a lot of work coming up that way. A lot if boatbuilders and welding jobs.
I will be more than willing to relocate as will the rest of the family as there is not a lot for them down here and it does look a whole lot better in all areas there.
We have toiled with the going for some years now, but this has giving us the push to do so.

Welcome to the forum Broken Bill....sorry to hear you've lost your job though. If you've got fibreglassing experience you could try the new Sunseeker factory on Portland. They seem to be doing well and offered a friend of mine a job laying up last week.

Been looking on interweb thing and there are plenty of jobs about in the south.
My 2 kids are more than willing to get away from this place now. There just is no work, unless tourist time here, and they dont want to be making up beds in a holiday camp for rest of lifes.
My son has a few mates that went around the Southampton area. They say it best thing they ever done.Work, collages, nightlife and work. One of them now lives on Isle of White and makes wind turbins..they have work for at least 25 years he says.
My daughter just wants the shops and collages. There mum use to live in Portswood, but left there some years ago now, dont see or hear from her now.
Yes, time to move on and do what we all seem to wish to do.
Anyone want a 3 bedroom house in Plymouth.

A mate of mine reckons there are very few jobs around the Bournemouth/Poole area - for teenagers................

Reckons they've all gone to Eastern European folk.

Vosper Thorneycroft own most of Portsmouth Naval Base and have orders for warship construction there, the new type 45 destroyer sections and possibly including the next super carriers. Maybe worth a try ?
