Did anyone go to this by the way???

I stopped by Aberdeen this afternoon on the way to drop my Ma at the Airport and there was no sign of anything what so ever maybe cancelled due to the weather which was attrocious. I saw John Clarks have a full page advert in What Bike mnagazine and say they are opening up a new branch in Tayside in the Summer......now thats hot gossip!!!

I just wish they would open up one in Aberdeen (or BAnchory).

Complete waste of time.
They were hidden round the back in the "used car lot". I couldn't find it and asked a salesman (I've always found the staff very helpful, by the way)

Arrived at 3pm, bearing in mind the mailshot said till 4pm, to find them finishing closing the trailer and putting the bikes back in the truck (only 2 left to go). The clothing stand was small, could have put it all in my own wardrobe with room to spare.
If JC are trying to promote bikes they need to try a bit harder.

I wonder if the "new branch" in Tayside is liable to be the bikes in their own facility, instead of being part of the car centre.

You were a day late. The Dundee Open Day was on Saturday.

Thats why I went to the Aberdeen branch on the Sunday I still didn't see anything but as Phil says it was all hidden round the back out of site of those posh BMW car owners

It would be good to get a bike only showroom as they have a great range of bikes available at the moment - the best ever in my opinion

Ok, but it's not by any effort by JC Group in Aberdeen. How come Abz lost the bikes originally?
At least this time the mail shot turned up before the event

I looked in at the JC Dundee Open Day.

I called JC's in Aberdeen last year sometime to ask about a bit for my bike and the snotty cow that answered the phone told me in a very sneering tone that they didn't stock motorbike bits anymore...

It was better in Dundee when I stopped in one day- but not by much. The bloke in the bike bit was busy so I asked someone in the car section who seemed horrified to be asked about bike stuff.
Once I got to speak to a normal human being it was fine though.

No one comes close to Motorrad Central - hope they open Bishopbriggs again soon.

Went to Dundee one on Sat and very enjoyable twas too Good selection of test bikes, ride-outs, BBQ and a very decent turn out. Had a natter with a few of the gents from this parish, all in all not a bad wee run so well done JC's

Saturday was interesting. I had the opportunity to ride an '08 back to back with my '07. I also had the chance to experience at first hand what it's like to sit on the pillion of an enthusiastically ridden GS. My son tried a K1200S for the first time, having previously only tried the R and a GS. He's been plotting ever since about how he can get one.

We both went up to help out at Aberdeen on the Sunday. Seeing things from the other side is a bit of an eye-opener.

I've always felt grateful for the opportunity to try out the range of bikes with absolutely no pressure to buy. Indeed, it must have been 4 years after I first rode an R1150 GS on an Open Day in Dundee that I got my first 1200. However, that's obviously not the case for everybody.

Having said that I met some really nice people who were enthusiastic and genuinely interested in trying out different bikes in the range. A test ride of half an hour might well not long enough to really decide if you like a bike enough to live with it for the next 3 or 4 years but it gives people the chance to decide if they want to take a longer test ride before committing themselves to purchase a bike.

It also gave me an indication of the kind of resources that a dealership has to commit to put on this kind of event and the work that goes into putting it on.
