The point of posting is to indicate my experience of the dealer, as requested and I hope it is helpful to those who might use John Clarke, Dundee.

It is not my fault that these things happened and it is my choice whether or not to complain in writing, (after having placed a complaint by phone) following weighing up the pros and cons.

The fact that they were consistently delivering poor service over a period of two years is clear.

I cannot believe they are unaware of it.

Understand, I think, but bear in mind a sign which apears from time to time in establishments which care about their customer service:

"If you like what we do, tell others. If you don't, tell us"

You're telling others without giving the dealer a chance to respond. You are clearly unhappy with the way they have treated you - you should make it clear to the dealer and offer them a chance to put things right. You never know, you may end up with some redress which means you come back here and tell us they have made amends - or they tell you to take a hike in which case you come back here and tell everyone again, and no-one else goes near their dealership.

If you've experienced bad service you must inform the dealer, otherwise they'll never know how pi55ed off you are.

Telling them may help them improve their service and this will affect all who may be thinking of going there.

Your call of course, but I know what I would do.

Deaf Ears!!

Best advice for anyone contemplating buying a bike from John Clark in Dundee is DON'T!!....based on my experience!!

I could bore you with horror stories of my problems with my last GS, direct verbal complaint to the sales director in the presence of the managing director etc etc, 3 visits for a damaged petrol tank (not picked up at their PDI inspection but picked up by me, prior to me handing over my cheque!) to be replaced by them, each visit for this being a 180 round mile trip for me, each time the replacement tank being:- unpainted, then damaged, then damaged again, unbelievable, especially when on the final two visits I phoned and asked them to check and confirm the tank was okay. Oh, the third time they did say they had replaced it when I returned, I checked it and found out it was still my old tank!! I refused to leave the dealership until someone told the truth, they eventually did!!!!! DISHONEST!!!!!!!!! I also had a service done at the 3rd visit and their computer was down and they couldn't charge me. They sent their invoice I withheld payment on the basis of the appalling service and said sue me and I'll sue you for this "disneyland performance"!! They settled without any apology.

If you buy a bike from them, in my experience, and it seems others!!?......you are throwing your money away and inviting a never ending series of problems steming from piss poor customer service etc!!!

Go to Motorad in Glasgow, they deal with customers the way it should be done!

The problem at this dealership stems from the owner/senior management and filters down through most of the other staff, but their receptionist Ann is superb!!... well done her!!, probably the lowest paid and least valued (by the management) member of staff.

Yup, John Clark (Disneyland Dundee Branch!)

john clark dundee

ive been reading the string of complaints about jc and just had to add this .I was thinking about a new F650gs and asked THE SALESMAN for his best price with some extras on it .
price quoted was £6110 but he would take off £310 . when I got the price lists from bmw and worked out the price for myself, guess what, £5780 all in .He also omitted to inform me a new model was available at the same price in the new year. So he was quite happy to sell me a superseeded bike at full price while leading me to believe he was doing me a deal.
I think he is a throughly disreputable chap, and one not to be trusted what?
