The weather's been a Blitzfreeze up here. the A9's been like a Bloody Road To Death at times., bike slipsliding all over the place - Wheels of Terror, in fact.
Anyway, time for my liquefied vegatable lunch....

Doesn't take that long and breaks the journey nicely if you then stop off in Helmsdale.
Thanks, just had a quick look on Google street view. Looks an "interesting" road
have marked for future use, reckon wife would kill me if I turned up there with her following !

It's not as bad as it looks. there's plenty of vegetation in the centre of the tarmac, but it's esy to ride the whole route on just tarmac. Like I said, it's not in anyway a 'fast' run - it's a slow bimble up Loth and down to Strath Kildonan with bits of rougher tarmac and then a 'normal' road back to Helmsdale.
Whatever you decide, hope you get the weather.

If we I get SWMBO on a GS instead of her sports bike maybe a chance, currently working on it
Weather we expect the worse then hopefully pleasantly surprised, good thing booking something you have to go no matter what the weather.

Go and see the Camster Cairns, three miles in from the coast road but worth a look, also great cafe in Thurso next the river think its called the Tempest head for the harbour and you cant miss it, great food and good prices.Enjoy
