Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere...I have '09 GSA, now on c.4500 miles, great bike. love it to bits to the point of saying thank you and patting it after every ride :drool and I know I'm not the only one who does that before someone takes the piss :), however...during ride to French Alps last weekend (and prior to that but not so frequent, thought I thought maybe rider error), it's been jumping out of gear. Mainly from 5 to 4, under slight acceration (not under hard accel' as I recall, just slight), just jumps cleanly to 4th (disconcerting when going downhill on mountain pass!! when suddenly jump to 4 and aceelerate!!), also but less so, from 6 to 5, not so clean, seems to jump between the two gears with jumpy nasty feeling. Obviously need to get it into dealers for probable warranty work assuming they can replicate the problem, but wanted to see if the problem has been experienced by others as 'backup'.
thanks
Sean

Clean the linkage, spray wd40 on the links, make sure it is free and springy.
Remove the pedal, pus the shaft in a bit.. clean and grease at back.
Test ride.

agreed, mine developed a similar pattern of occasionally jumping out of gear or having difficulty selecting... It was because of a sticky pedal.....

My gearbox was all over the place until my mate, BMW mechanic of my vintage adjusted the gear shift lever down a fair bit. Now its perfect, never miss a gear or jump out.
I assume the problem was when lifting the gearshift up I was not fully engaging the gears, so now in the lowered gearshift position gears are fully engaged.

thanks all, I'll see if it needs cleaning, otherwise get it checked at next service which is not too far away. Now I'm back home riding with emptyish panniers and not under same strains as up and down moutain passes the problem seems to have gone away which suggests maybe not down to dirt, have to have good ride at weekend to re-assess.

I have a 2007 GSA , with 8000 on the clock and it jumps between 5th and 4th , but only when going up the box ! it fails to select 5th shows no gear indication on the display then crunches and jumps back to 4th .
Not happy
