Well Berthas new face is almost finished. Everything connected and working.
just a few finishing touches to go. The lights are a revelation, far better than any BM ive had before and without HID's.
Its not a bad option for those building a special and the Tailtech unit is a doddle to fit and seems to work fine with good visibility too. Just have to get used to the backlight remaining on ( for 20 mins) after leaving the bike

Hey Tony,

Thats looking good :thumb2 Are the lights significantly better than the setup you just replaced?

I like the idea of the twin lights, so might do similar myself in the future, think I'd go with the Hi mudguard though.

In the meantime here's a pic of the current mod to Jill's 100. I've taken a few so might get round to doing a little build report once it's finished.

Val.

Nice one :thumb2

I had a Universal fitment GPz style twin headlamp handlebar fairing on the LegoBike fitted with two 60/55w Cibies and as you say there`s no need for HID`s or owt.

Combined with two crashbar mounted 55w spotties they turned the blackest night into the sunniest day. :D

Val H.. That looks really good. can you fit a screen to it?

Tarka , I did look at some old pics of yours but couldnt make out what nose it was, guess I should have asked. probably a lot cheaper than the one I bought but hey!!!!!
I took the ol girl out for a test ride, pissing down but everything worked a treat even the speedo was pretty spot on. A bit difficult to read the speedo with bright sunlight in front . I will need to get the screen to fit to the fairing though. Its quite high but not enough to send the airstream over the helmet

Tony, By using the original speedo housing we're able to also use the original screen. The bike came with a tall screen too, but Jill prefers the look with the standard one fitted.

Tarka, Was your bike the one painted in Kawasaki green and bright red? How effective was the fairing? I'd have thought the GPZ fairing would need some sort of extension screen, maybe the 'K' series one fitted by some :nenau

That`s the one :thumb2

Originally in bright yellow and KTM purple when in Mk1 single disc DTR front end format.

Then Kawasaki lime green and red in Mk2 with the XTZ twin disc front end .

The screen kept the windblast off my chest and just toward the top of my helmet....I don`t want to be totally cocooned in still air.
Bear in mind that you don`t need a feckoff big ugly tall screen if the fairing itself is mounted just right compared to seat and handlebar height.
