On the same subject I have recently learned that even with the torque of the shift-cam engine if you try to pull away from a junction in 3rd gear the bike will stall and fall in the direction you are turning. Ooops, and I'm glad I fitted engine bars!

I've almost done that a few times, and sometimes when starting to move off but having to stop suddenly due to other traffic appearing. I now try to always stop at junctions with the bars straight but the whole bike angled towards the direction I am going.
