HI Ukgser's, well i just join the club, and moved up from a 650 Strom to a GS..

well I part exchanged my Strom for a clean yellow 2006 GS, with new Aluminium BMW panniers and top box and some other addon's plus a 24 month BMW select warranty..(i would not of bought it without the warranty).

I wish I could afford a 2010+ GS Adventure but in Holland those are a silly 20,000 plus. anyway I will enjoy what I have and will be riding it back from the dealer on Saturated with a big smile...also looking forward to going back to the UK for Easter to see the family.

cheers guys and gals...

Carl

Welcome to the land of the GS....great bike, great fun and a great forum...enjoy.

Thanks everyone how posted. Just thought i'd give an update. Well picked up the bike on Saturday and loving it thus far..although i am suffering from numb hands after about 10 mins riding...guess its because I'm stumpy and the bike has a touratech x-low seat meaning i have to lean forward a little too much...i have ordered rox backbars/raisers so I hope it will sort it out. anyway i will post some pics of the bike when i know how..lol

thanks again for your support...sorry for the cockup with face book pic....admin can you please delete the links?

Best regards

Numb hands might not just be down to too much pressure on the wrists, but might also be because your gripping too tight, especially considering it's a more powerful bike than you last one. Try to relax your grip and see if that helps :thumb2

HI all Thank you for your replies, I have been trying to relax over the past few days, changing my posture but I no real change..my hands are both numb after a 15-30 minutes, and ache for the rest of the day. But only the balls of my hands near the wrists. Still waiting for the rox risers to arrive then I have to re-route the cables to allow for the extra hight and lateral change. I do hope it makes a huge difference, I really don't want to give up the bike.

cheers

Greetings & salutations, welcome to the site....:thumb2

Relax your grip, and rest your fingers (not the heel of your hands) on the bar grips...may help

All the best & enjoy your bike...:D

Thank you again for all your replies, I have ordered the grip puppies, I do really hope they help, the vibes and leaning forward due to my short upper body and arms is unbearable.
Also the rox risers arrived so I think i need to order longer cables as the BMW dealer in holland will not fit the rox risers due the fact that i have 24months bmw warranty they said if would be void if anything happens if i re-route the cables myself but they will fit them if they install new cables.

ok now for some good new, BMW fitted the Rox riser with no additional need for new cables and now the bike feels much better, I feel I have more control due to the fact I'm not leaning and after a 2hrs ride no numb hands...my wrists are aching a little but hey I'm happy. Thanks to all for your advice.
