Just had to say

Firstly this is a very popular bike and a huge number have been sold all over the world. Secondly all the time more and more people are gettiing on the internet & coming onto this site - so the result is that you are having more people talking about, and inevitably complaining about a particular bike than ever before.
Thirdly most of us have cars that we treat more 'sensibly' and use far more often - and no doubt that nowadays cars have to be more reliable, competition is fierce.
A lot of queries or complaints could easily be answered and settled in a few moments from a good dealer - but we tend to fly of the handle at first because it is so easy to do so.
It will never be possible to really weigh up the pros and cons because most people are satisfied, riding their GS's happily and have never been on this site;

A very balanced view if I may say so :thumb2

I got a new GS12 in September 05 and have only done 13K on it but have had three breakdowns in that time the last one being a blown motor, all fixed under warrantee I might add.

Dispite all this I have just ordered a new one because I love the way it can turn its hand to any task (well apart form proper off roading).

I did consider changing to another brand but after many demo rides nothing came close.

GSA Highlight

Had it 6 weeks, completed 5000 miles of trouble free, glorious riding. Easy trip from Portsmouth to Leeds and back in day (and still time to see my local band that night). 1800 miles of footpeg scratching corners in the Ardennes last month. Great bike, no FANTASTIC bike.

End of rant!

PS have you seen how far you have to lean to scratch the pegs??????
