Right, the reason for such a question is that I have a narrow path to get to where I park my F800GS. I was wondering what the width of the engine was, at its widest point?

The bars on my GS just go through my gate posts, but I just have to "shimmy" them slightly, but if I ever decide to go for a 1150 or 1200, would I have problems getting it through the gate.

Slightly odd question I know, :nenau but I never seem to have a tape measure to hand when I park next to the bigger bike :D:D:D

You could try the BuMW website. I am sure they have the specs available...

My 2010 1200GS Adventure is approx..........

36" Handlebars, about the same as the mirrors.
30 and a quarter inches, Engine bars at pot level.

what a question...

Its not the engine that matters, its the handlebars. If you have a narrow corridor top park it, you may struggle to walk next to it if its too narrow

You are not having much luck with this thread, are you? If it helps, my 1150GS is 760mm wide at the cylinder heads (including BMW plastic head guards) and 910mm at the handlebars (including hand guards). The mirrors are also 910mm edge-to-edge.

Appreciate it, thank you. Glad that someone can actually answer a question :thumb2:thumb2

Its NOT the width of the :nono:nono handlebars that are the issue, its the width od the ENGINE at the widest point that is the question.

The handlebars are high enough up on my GS to just about clear the top of my gatepost, but maybe yours are right down at the engine level :banghead::banghead:
