New shoes on my 2013 GSA (Pilot4 R&T) 50 miles on them then screw in front!
Plugged at the roadside & then another 200miles done without concern.
The question I have is, should I have the tyre repaired with a plug from the inside or replace the tyre or just leave it as it's not causing any issues? Has anyone had any similar concerns. I've got a 1500 mile trip round Scotland in June so thought I'd ask for opinions?

Personally, I'd have a proper vulcanised repair done on it. A rapid front tyre deflation is one of the last things you want when you're tramping on. Other more concerned folks will no doubt advise that you bin it and fit a new one. I've only ever had rears repaired but I've never had qualms about doing 120-130 mph on them afterwards.

I agree except I had similar on my WC on way from collecting it brand new, slow puncture on front tyre, (thought faulty tyre sensor) had it repaired & 7500 miles later no problem..
Suggest take it to a guy who's used to doing motorcycle tyres tho..

I had my Pilot 3 rear repaired after finding a screw in it after 1,500 miles. Had it plugged from inside and have been away twice with in and forgotten it has been done. It would have been a waste of good money and a good tyre to replace it.

Professional repairs should be as good as new. If there is any doubt they won't do the job.
Good quality in tyre sealant will reduce the rate of air loss in a big puncture and seal small ones. The Police use Puncturesafe which was good enough for me.
I had a biggie repaired in the central band. The technician doing the job said I really didn't need to bother but had no problem with the sealant.

Get a proper repair before you go, but definitely don't replace the tyre. On second thoughts, replace it and I will dispose of the old one for you

What kind of plug did you use? If it was a stop and go mushroom I would leave well alone. I have done many thousands of miles with one of them in and it didn't even have a slow.

It was a stop & go plug, thanks for the reply
