Got my GSA up for sale. Last night received an e mail is the mileage and price as described ? Replied yes.

This morning had this reply :-

The bike is a present for my son who is getting married in Holland.

A cheque or bankers draft will be issued in London and sent to your address via Royal mail and the amount on cheque will cover the cost of transportation and van. As soon as you receive it you get it deposit in your bank and wait for it to cleared by your bank. I have a private shipper who will be coming for the pick up after payment and will act on my behalf regarding registration and documentation of v5 and dvla.

It goes on for a bit asks for name , address to sent cheque to etc.

Good bit, e mailer is called jakeford007 .

How lucky am I, some guy has his own private shipper , blah, blah

It would have been interesting to see what happened if you'd have said you were a liar and it was a clocked heap of shit :D

cash the draft, then when the shipper turns up.... look amazed and say that's really odd.... a shipper has already collected it..... then wait and see what happens next....:augie

Hey, good one, time for some fun.

Google jakeford 007 by the way, known scam merchant, just in case anyone is using bike trader etc.

Regards, Stu

I had the same thing with the Ginetta. I told the buyer that I wouldn't sell it to someone who hadn't sat in it as the person would need to be a 'specific' body type. He was not concerned and we went back and forth via emails a few times until I suggested that the Son should fly to the UK and then take the car back as a driving holiday :D
