Just ordered LED spots

Tsk. I've fitted BMW auxs to GSs before, both LEDs and Halogens. Both didn't need a trip to a dealer after fitting.
These ones are designed to simply plug in to the existing BMW electrics, plug already exists under the tank, the software update or whatever reprogramming is required has to be done , check it out :rob

FFS I for one wanted to see some pics of the BMW LED spots. The OP appears to have removed them I guess as a result of some of the posts on this thread. Isn't this the some of info this section was designed for ? :blast

Funny how after oohh 50000miles the aux ones worked fine without a trip to the dealer. I replaced those with LEDs, then took those off the 2009 and installed them onto a 2012. No trip to a dealer ever needed. Ao fr the LEDs have done about 20K. So you stick to your claim and I'll stick to actual experience.

Where have my pictures gone?:nenau

I didn't remove them.:rob

I'm enjoying the bitching on this thread.

are they wired through the canbus system or direct to the battery , i am interested, honestly couldnt give a feck who is right but there must be an explanation why 3 dealers told me the same thing for the bmw lights .:nenau

No canbus. There's a reason why they use 7.5A fuses.

The Aux lights need a wiring kit and a relay all of which come from BMW.

very, very basic install:
Pop the tank backwards, lift up the ZFE, install the relay. Replace the ZFE, remove the blanking power connector plug from the top thing under the tank, plug in the loom. Connect the lights, install the BMW handlebar light switch, spend most of the time tidying up the wiring. There, you now have 'GSA' aux lights on your GS.

Do a search on RealOEM for the parts, and there's some info on ADVRider too.

Basically its the same as connecting a set of lights directly to the battery via a relay as the draw is greater than 5A, and you want the lights to have power on/off when the ignition is switched. It's not anything more than that, but fits much nicer than a home-made version.

I am thinking of getting an LED pair myself too; however, I was thinking of keeping the original spotlights as well having the LED lights if there is any space to hang them. Are there any suitable brackets, that would work?
Am I just being silly?:D

If you are thinking of paying remotely near that sort of money, you are not being silly, you are being fucking stupid :blast

Rather than waste your money on this overpriced, under-produced bling, why not spend it on something useful like cheap service station blowjobs or alcohol?

You'll not only feel better, but your mates won't think you're a cnut either :augie
