Just washed the bike

Turned on the ignition and the lights/dash come on, but can't hear the fuel pump and the starter does nothing when pressed.

I'm assuming I've gotten something wet and just need to wait for it to dry out? Or might I have knocked something?

All fuses ok.

Got it on the centre stand but with the side stand still down as well ?

Knocked the killswitch to the off position ?

Got it in gear instead of neutral ?

There`s some obvious ones............

EDIT...John got there a tad before me...:augie

check the side stand .. the fuel pump and lights wont come on if thats down or the switch is dicking about... and a simple one.. the kill switch

Man I feel stupid.

It was the kill switch.

Ah well, I suppose it's been a while since I've done anything truly stupid!

your not the first.. or will be the last :)

My mate did the same thing with his gsxr600 last year. We installed some heated grips together on it.. then went to start it ... nothing.. after 2 hours of checking everything.. and him calling the dealer to book it in for a repair.. i checked the kill switch.....:blast

:)

Been there - done exactly that :D

I was just about to dive in and start ripping side stand switches and wiring apart when I happened to look at the kill switch

Occam's razor....

Had the bike in a BMW main dealer for a warranty repair to the ignition switch, bike wouldn't start. I went in preparing to throw a strop, held back, guy comes out and flicks the kill switch!!!!!!!!!!!

I ask you, who turns off their kill switch?

Hahaha... I won't mention that it's going back to Steptoe this friday then
;)

Honestly, my Buell had less problems!

See, if you had one of those fancy new 1200's you'd know it was the killswitch 'cos the RID display would be blank on making the ignition.:augie
