Started after breakfast to assemble both barrels and heads and rocker covers on to the R 90 S engine. Everything to be a vapour blasted , honed and painted. I was aware that one of the Rocker cover central studs needed a thread insert so drilled and tapped and fitted prior to assembly. Everything is going well until I just went to put the second new center stud at the final stage of assembly, prior to cleaning up.
Then out came a previous thread insert. So I decided to drill tap and fit with the Rocker gear on but covered. Anyway all is well that ends well but it was a bit of a worry having to get new gaskets and the time delay.
