Anyone used a K&N air filter on their LC. Any difference? Not looking for more power, but longer between maintenence and reusability. 8000 mls overland.
Not saying this is the case for K & N, but if a filter can manage to effectively present a greater surface area to the airflow than standard, then even with the same filtration effectiveness it should be able to pass a greater volume of air in a given time period.
I had a K&N in a Tiger 955. When I had to remove the air box for a plug change, there were deposits of very fine caked mud in the throttle bodies. OEM filter reinstalled PDQ.
K&N filters - great for stopping nascar engines ingesting tumbleweeds (engines likely to be rebuilt after the race), not as effective as OEM filters for anything else.

Thanks guys. Yes, I think stock filter is the way to go ... though, guglatech has also now thrown it's hat into the ring with a aftermarket filter ... though, it says 'oil' for best results in dirt conditions. Stock it shall be as of now.
