Any advantage to using one of these in a GS? Is it money well spent, Just the once of course or is really just another bit of ,albeit hidden, bling?

Extra induction noise............ which is nice (IMHO)

Cheryl Crowe once sang.... "if it makes you happy........ it can't be that bad"

But you have to take into account that she married Lance Armstrong!!!

Oil or air filter? Oil filter has a nut on it so you don't need a special tool. Air filter is reusable so probably cheaper in the long run even after you buy the cleaner and oil. Both are supposed to increase performance very slightly but significantly so, I doubt it? I've always used them, no complaints.

I like it - bought it for the cost over time. Just wash it and stick it back in. Makes a lovely noise though.

If you don't re-oil it, you can save more money - just throw it in the bin

In view of the thick, caked, oily dust deposits in the throttle bodies of a 955 Tiger I put a K&N in, I wouldn't put one in another bike.

Got one in my GSA WC, been in now for 62,000 miles, just done a service after a 5500 mile trip around Alaska, filter was full to the top of the ridges with dust, air box underneath was spotless. Just washed it out and re oiled and is now ready for Morocco next week, at a guess it will want cleaning again when I get back. I clean it every time I do a oil change so that is now 10 times, works out cheaper than a standard BMW paper filter and I could possibly sell it if I ever get rid of the bike
