K1300R Headlamp Issue

I have a mate who has a K1300R. The main beam bulb has stopped working and put a fault warning on the dash panel. After fitting a new bulb it still doesn't work. It turns out the old main beam bulb hadn't blown so the fault lies elsewhere !

Is this a known fault something other than wiring/switch etc?

I 'think' we may have a winner

After a trawl around the internet it appears that the left hand switchgear is not as reliable as our cousins in Berlin my like us to believe
