Recently got a postcard from BMW at Bishopbriggs, announcing the K1300R, K1300S & K1300GT Launch this Saturday, 7th February, at Motorrad Central West (I guess its on at Dalkeith as well).

Let's kick start the 2009 season with K Day, as BMW launches 3 more models from their unstoppable range.

3. New Bikes

2. New Team Members

1. Very good reason for us all to get together, have a catch up and a bite to eat

Look forward to seeing you there

Jon and the team

Should hopefully make it along with Skye at some stage in the day.

I like the look of the K1300GT . . Apart from the fact that BMW have given in and replaced their indicator switches with a single switch as per every other bike.

Now; Having got used to the three switch arrangement on my 1150GSA and K1200GT, I wouldn't want a single switch again. I have ridden some of the 'G-series' bikes and found the switchgear difficult to use with winter gloves on, particularly when using the clutch at the same time.

That would put me off the new models I'm afraid.

Why do they listen to Bike journos who only have an occasional blast on a BMW instead of the long-term riders who like the current (as in the bikes they currently own) arrangement ?

Am I a lone voice (don't think so from what I have read) ?

There is a report on the K1300GT in the current issue of "Motorcycle Sport & Leisure".

Bob.

....I got a card as well but was puzzelled by

: Jon and the team

Jon who?

Don't think they talk to me anymore, as I had the bare face cheek to say that the staff attitude at MCE was pish poor.:D

Pidcocks sent me a card though:thumb2

nae yer not i have jap bikes and an adv1200 and now i much prefer the bmw 3 switch system seems mair kinda intuitive tae me:beerjug:

Ride a blade and a 1200GS and where I find no problem switching from one to another, I prefer the GS switches, just find it easier :thumb

+1, wouldn't wanna go back to that :thumb2

Well I popped into MCW today and got the usual hospitality :augie

Saw the K13GT, looked like the K12GT, then saw the K13R looked the same as the K12R, didn't see the K13S but I think your getting the picture.

It's the first time I've seen the blinged up 12GS, it looks a lot nicer in the flesh than it does in pictures, still like that 12GSA maybe one day  but 12k is taking the pish a wee bit.

You sound surprised that the 13s looked like the 12s they replaced ?

What did you expect ?

All they have done is fiddle with the engine slightly.

so where's the photos Iain....:bounce1

Only took a few photos and only saw the K13R. I agree with Roddy that the blinged up 12GS looked  Didn't get a photo of it :blast too many folk standing around it.

I really liked the K1300S in this colour I saw at the show :

But it's not an option !!!

Seems a bit daft to display a bike in a colour that won't be available !

But the digi dash is an option I believe :
